CALL WANDA AT 817-506-0855Our volunteers foster our rescue animals in their own homes. Our rescue animals are introduced to other animals and then socialized within their foster family. We normally spay/neuter each animal before they are adopted, with a few exceptions. If they are not spayed/neutered before the adoption (such as puppies/kittens), we will have the procedure done after the adoption. We provide all our rescue dogs with medical treatment, good food, exercise, love and all the socialization they need. For us to continue our level of care, your help is needed. OUR POLICYIt is our policy in placing dogs in families with small children, younger than eight is not acceptable for there could be danger of injury to the dog and especially injury to the child. In either case we would be liable and responsible for allowing this placement. This protects us as well as the adopters. Each adopted animal must be spayed/neutered, even full breed or pedigreed animals. This is not an optional procedure, and it is mandated by city ordinances.
Adopters are expected to keep their new pet current on all vaccinations, heart worm prevention and other vet care as needed. They should be given FRESH water every day and bowl cleaned out. Big dogs eat once a day and nibble on dry food, small dogs twice a day and given good brand vitamins. Each pet should be fed a high-quality dog food. Foods that list cornmeal as a primary ingredient are not typically what we would consider high quality. Some good brands include Purina, Nutro, and Pro Plan. GREAT NEWS FOR PET LOVERS RESCUE The animals you see on our website need homes. But they need friends, too. Even if you can't adopt them, you can help care for them and find them homes. We spend an average of $60 on each animal from the time they walk through the door with a volunteer to the time they we find them a new family. That's just for the direct costs of their care: food, medicine, vaccinations, treats, toys, kennel supplies, grooming and adoptions advertising. It doesn't include staff time, overhead, general operating expenses, or anything else. They would love your help as they make the transition from "unwanted" to "cherished." Please help with a sponsorship gift of any amount. A gift of any size will help give current and future animals the care -- and the hope -- that they need. They ask for so little and they deserve so much. Donate with a Credit Card. If you would prefer to send a check, please make it payable to Pet Lovers Rescue & send it to: Pet Lovers Rescue 5816 Longhorn Trl Joshua, Tx 76058 Pet Lovers Rescue is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization.
