Our Featured Pet... We currently have no pets for placement at this time. We will be taking a break from most rescue activities for a while to attend to family and medical obligations.
News
Gailic's Pet Rescue will not be accepting or fostering any animals in the immediate future. I am having a difficult pregnancy and will not be able to be placed back on the medication with which I manage my chronic health problems until after the baby has finished nursing. Due to complications arising from the lack of management of my illnesses at this time I am finding it difficult just to take care of my responsibilities at home and cannot manage even minimal rescue work on top of that.
UPDATE: Our son was born Dec 19, 2005 at 9:35pm at 10 pounds 4 oz (we had no idea he would be so big, I might have rethought natural childbirth if I had known! :) We are doing well but I am having trouble recovering from the birth so it may be some time before we are doing placements again. Happy New Year everyone!
Who We Are
Gailic's Pet Rescue was a privately run and funded pet rescue operating out of my home for several years. We mostly handled dog and cat adoptions, though a few bunnies, reptiles, birds and "small & furries" passed through our hands. We had to close down due to family issues and health problems but hope to be back as a placement organization soon!
Since we have no facilities in which to house pets at this time, any ferret you wish to adopt or place must be handled by Tricks & Treats Ferret Rescue or The Ferret Waystation.
Adopting a friend
Please contact another shelter in your area or check out the many pets available at Brazos Animal Shelter. The unending work that shelter does allows the rest of us in Bryan/College Station and the surrounding area to be able to help only those pets we have the finances and space to take in. Until the day when most or all members of this society comply with spay/neuter and adopt for life the services of such Humane Society shelters as BAS will be absolutely vital and heartbreaking work. We owe them our deepest gratitude for the job they do, often with minimal thanks and appreciation. Spay and neuter your pets, love them don't leave them, remember to adopt rather than buy, and thank your local shelter workers today for the work they willingly take on.
