Feral Friends Community Cat Alliance

Our Pet List

Description
Feral Friends is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization based in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. We rescue abandoned, unwanted and abused cats. We also visit local Animal Control facilities and rescue cats and kittens scheduled for euthanasia. We do not have a shelter. All of our rescued cats are cared for by our volunteer fosters and partner veterinarians until suitable homes are found. In addition, we assist groups and individuals with rescue and management of feral cat colonies through a method known as TTAVR, which stands for Trap, Test, Alter, Vaccinate, Release. Feral Friends is staffed and managed completely by volunteers. We rely entirely on donations from adoption fees, PETsMART, and concerned animal lovers (like yourselves!).

Other Departments
The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an Adoption Application and to discuss your needs in person with one of our trained counselors. Our counselors can advise you both during and after your visit regarding nutrition, medical care, and feline behavior. You must agree to the following adoption Feral Friends Adoption Policies:

We only deal with the primary caregiver of the animal. If you have a friend or relative whom you think would bond well with one of our adoptable cats or kittens, they will need to contact us in person.

All of our cats are "Indoor Only" cats. We do not adopt indoor/outdoor cats or outdoor only cats.

All of our cats must be spayed or neutered. In most cases, this procedure has already been completed. If not, a voucher will be issued at the time of adoption to cover the cost of the surgery at one of our participating veterinarians.

Our adoption fees are $105 for adult cats or $ 135 for declawed adult cats or kittens. This fee covers: for adults - test for Feline Leukemia and FIV, spay or neuter, vaccinations that include FVRCP, FeLV, Rabies, worming, flea/ear mite treatments plus a complete veterinary examination and any necessary medical treatment; or for kittens - test for Feline Leukemia and FIV (either on the kitten if 9 weeks of age or over, or on the mother if preferable), 1st FVRCP (the adopter assumes responsibility for the two additional FVRCP vaccinations required), worming, flea/ear mite treatments, plus any other necessary medical care, and a thorough medical examination. While we never adopt a cat or kitten that we have reason to believe is ill or has been exposed to disease, there are no adequate tests for certain viruses. We adopt out cats in good faith, but we cannot guarantee their continued health.
