WANT TO ADOPT A FOREVER FRIEND?
All dogs are spayed or neutered and up to date on rabies, DHLPP, and bordetella vaccinations. They are heartworm neg. and on heartworm preventative. Some are microchipped. Adoption fees help to offset expenses incurred in rescue. The minimum adoption fee is $150. The first step in adopting a Catahoula is to fill out an adoption application. An online application is available HERE We have dogs coming into rescue on a continuing basis, so if we don't have the one you're looking for now, check back or fill out an application and we will notify you when a dog fitting your description comes into rescue.

If you need help placing a Catahoula, we will do a COURTESY LISTING on our website as long as the dog is spayed or neutered, HW neg. and up to date on rabies and dhlpp vaccinations. We will only list dogs that are Catahoula or obvious Catahoula mixes. When evaluating a dog for breed ID we look at the coat length, ear set, feet, and over-all body shape. A Catahoula or Catahoula mix should have a short, single coat, medium drop ears, large round feet with thick pads and well defined toes, and have a muscular but athletic build. Catahoulas have deep chests, an obvious tuck at the flank, and fairly long, straight legs. Catahoulas can have a natural bobtail, but most have a long fish-hook tail. Click 'Submit A Rescue Listing' and follow the instructions if you would like your Catahoula listed with our available dogs.

If you are interested in adopting a Catahoula or Catahoula mix, or you would like to help us save these dogs, you can contact Catahoula Rescue Inc. at info@catahoularescue.com or you can contact the Catahoula Rescue Network regional coordinator nearest you. If you are interested in a particular dog on our Available Pets page, contact the person listed on that dog's page. Not all dogs listed on the Pets page are in the care of Catahoula Rescue. Some dogs are listed for their current owners, while others are still in shelters. Placement of the shelter dogs is usually urgent as they are only given a limited time to be adopted before being killed. If you can foster a shelter dog, please contact us at info@catahoularescue.com.
