Who We Are

The Humane Society of Navarro County is located in Corsicana, Texas. We're about 60 miles south of Dallas on I-45. The Humane Society of Navarro County is an all volunteer, 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization. We survive solely on donations. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER. The animals in our care live in loving foster homes where they are socialized and evaluated to determine the best type of environment for their personalities. We want our adoptions to last a lifetime!!! All of our foster animals have been checked by a veterinarian. They have also been given age appropriate vaccinations, along with being spayed or neutered. If the animal is too young for spay/neuter surgery at the time of adoption, the adopter will be required to have the animal spayed or neutered when the animal reaches six months of age. Confirmation of spay/neuter must be sent to the Humane Society of Navarro County immediately following the surgery. The HSNC is involved with many other projects in our community. Our main purpose is to aid our city animal shelter with spay/neuter, off site pet adoptions, transport of shelter animals to and from the veterinarian's office and to assist many of their animal residents having "special needs". We are also dedicated to raising awareness in our community of the plight of unwanted, abandoned and homeless animals.

Adopting a Friend

The Humane Society of Navarro County screens all potential adopters. Prospective adopters will be requested to complete an application, provide vet and/or personal references, and allow a home visit. Our adoption fee varies depending on the amount of veterinary care the animal has received. If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact the designated foster home and they will send you an Adoption Application.

Donations

Donations are always welcome and appreciated. They can be mailed to the address below. You can also make a donation in honor or in memory of a beloved human or animal friend. Please include the name of the person or pet for honor or memorial, and also the name and mailing address of the person to receive the acknowledgment of your gift. If you would like a tax deductible receipt, please specify that as well.
