Teaching Animals Available for Adoption!

Who We Are....

Dedicated to serving the state of Texas, Texas A&M's College of Veterinary Medicine is one of only 31 colleges of veterinary medicine in the United States and Canada. It represents more than 70 years of growth from a small department in 1916 to its present role as a major veterinary educational center. The CVM, in partnership with the people of Texas and veterinary medicine in Texas, provides a particularly vital example of the bond among people and animals and of the special doctors, technologists and many other staff personnel who work in the center of this very special relationship.

The CVM houses teaching animals in its Small Animal Clinic to help A&M students, interns and residents learn veterinary medicine and practices for our companion animals. These animals teach our vet students how to do physical examinations, take radiographs, perform ultrasound, how to collect blood, etc. Basically, they are the foundation of all veterinarians’ training. Some of these animals are now being retired, ranging in age from 2-14 years and are available for adoption!

Thanks for visiting our site and please spread the word that these doggies and kitties are ready to find their forever homes. They deserve so much love and kindness for their years of service and loyalty.
