MEET DAYTONA!

Daytona is a friendly, fun boy! His coat is beautiful and rich in color. He and his sister, Stacy, were adopted together as puppies and returned a year later when their family moved. They would prefer to stay together and miss being part of a family. They are great dogs with nice temperaments that should make an easy addition to most any family. See a video clip of Daytona and read more about him by clicking on his name/link above.

WHO WE ARE

The Las Lomas K9 Rescue & Adoption Foundation 501(c)(3) non-profit organization was officially begun on June 9, 2000. The main objectives of the Foundation are to rescue homeless and abandoned dogs from the Wilson County and surrounding areas and to provide food and water, shelter, medical care, and routine health maintenance. Once fully vetted and healthy, our goal is to find them responsible and loving homes. The Foundation believes these dogs are truly an important part of us and we take their lives and well-being very seriously. We gladly take back any dog that we have adopted out that isn't working out in his or her new home, for any reason, for the rest of the dog’s life. If you are looking for a K9 companion, we can help!

ABOUT OUR DOGS

Our dogs are cared for in a private, mini-shelter environment until they are adopted or a foster home becomes available. All dogs are current on vaccinations and heartworm prevention as well as spayed or neutered at the appropriate age to help reduce the stray population.

We arrange meet and greets by appointment. We request that you complete our Adoption Application (currently a Microsoft Word document) and email it to us at: kim@dogsrus.org if you are interested in one of our dogs. This does not commit you in any way but gives us a better idea of your lifestyle and what you are looking for in a dog.

OUR FOSTER PROGRAM

The majority of our dogs reside in our outdoor shelter facility until they are adopted. We always need new foster homes. In-home foster care gives the dog an opportunity to learn home manners and to socialize and interact with others in a home and family environment.

The socialization skills obtained through in-home foster care not only helps us give potential adopters more information about each dog’s personality and placement needs, it enhances the chances and ease of a successful transition and integration into a permanent, adoptive home.

Even short-term, in-home foster care will help us better assess each dog’s personality, skills, and needs, so if you can help, even for a couple weeks, please email us: kim@dogsrus.org. Who knows, you may find your next companion along the way!

Do the on-line shopping you would normally do, but do it through IGIVE.COM, and the group will receive a donation. There are about 680 stores to choose from - many popular and name-brand stores. Check it out and see if one of the stores you shop at is part of the IGIVE. Use this link to help the Las Lomas dogs:
