SHELTER HOURS: The following are hours that the Animal Shelter is open for the public to view adoptable animals: Monday-Friday: Noon-6:00 p.m.; Saturday & Sunday: Noon-5:00 p.m.

**Because this is a public animal shelter that serves a large number of animals, we unfortunately cannot hold adoptable pets for a long time....please come meet the animal you are interested in soon!** We are a division of the City of Fort Worth's Public Health Department. Our purpose is to promote safe neighborhoods for people and their pets. We are a full service shelter and animal services division. We are proud members of the Texas Animal Shelter Coalition. VOLUNTEER

Cowtown Loves Animal Shelter Pets (CLASP) is a NEW non-profit organization made up of caring folks who want to help the Animal Care and Control Center animals. This group meets once a month to plan fundraising events and other special promotional efforts. Come join other friendly people who care about pets. The meeting is on the last Thursday of each month at Charlie's Pizza, 2220 Handley Dr., Fort Worth, TX.  6:30 PM.  Please visit our website for more information or contact Wyndie through www.cowtownpets.com.  www.cowtownpets.com.

The Animal Care and Control Center invites committed volunteers to help groom and exercise the dogs, spoil the cats, help with data entry....other jobs too.

Also remember we love to see volunteers at our special events. Come down to the shelter and we will give you a tour and answer any questions you have.

DONATE

The division accepts donations of pet food, detergent, bleach, pet toys, cat litter, towels, newspapers, etc. The division accepts cash donations for a fund that is earmarked for projects and shelter enhancements that directly affect the animals. Donations to the City's Animal Care and Control are tax deductible and will be used only for animal programs. We are hoping to raise enough to get an adoption trailer. If you are interested in helping with fundraising, please join Cowtown Loves Animal Shelter Pets (CLASP) by contacting Anne through this site or by going to www.cowtownpets.com.

SPONSOR

You or your company can support our events and fundraisers by contacting Anne Thomason (contact info below) or Cowtown Loves Animal Shelter Pets at www.cowtownpets.com. All efforts big and small make a huge difference in the lives of the animals at the shelter.

PROGRAMS

Fort Worth is participating in GAP! GAP, the Gifted Animal Program, is an innovative program of the North Central Texas Animal Shelter Coalition. The idea is to train animal shelter attendants and volunteers to recognize potential service and special use dogs. Service dogs include dogs for drug and bomb detection, search and rescue, therapy, physical assistance for the disabled plus others. Special use dogs include canine sports like agility, dance, flying disc and flyball. There are lots of people looking for gifted dogs. They have always had to go from shelter to shelter looking. We hope to make their searchs easier. For more information, go to www.gapdogs.org.
