Please consider a membership with the Galveston Island Humane Society. Your support is used for daily operations of the shelter and helps us help the homeless pets in our care. Letters were mailed in June. If you are not on our mailing list, please contact the shelter for details.

Seniors for seniors ! Our special program would like to match an adult pet with human seniors (over 60) for only $25. Call or come by for details.

Kroger's - visit our website to get the upc code that will allow you to donate.
Randall's - ask the customer service to associate your Randall card with the number 2566. Everytime you use your Randall's card while purchasing groceries, a portion will go to the shelter.
Who We Are
The Galveston Island Humane Society is soley dedicated to the cause and welfare of unwanted or homeless animals. This organization provides a temporary refuge for these animals, arranges placement in responsible homes, and provides community education toward the prevention of cruelty to animals and the instruction of humane pet care.
Adopting a friend
The cost of adopting cats and dogs over 6 months of age is $75.00, kittens and puppies under 6 months, $90.00. The adoption fee includes pre-adoption vaccinations, spay/neuter, worming, rabies vaccination, microchip, and 1 month of pet insurance.
Check out litter mates who may be available 2 for 1.
Come Visit Us!
We are located on Galveston Island. If you live on the island, you will find us at 53rd and Ave S, in the old police sub station. Enter in rear of building.
OR
If you live off the island, go south on I45; continue on Broadway to 53rd St. Turn right and continue to Ave S. We are located at 53rd and Ave S. Enter in rear of building.
We are housed in the old police sub station.
