Wee Rescue holds adoptions on 2nd & 4th Saturday of every month at Petco Great Hills Trail in the Arboretum from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
We only adopt in the Austin, TX area.
News
Wee Rescue is currently looking for volunteers. We need help with any of the following: Transporting dogs, Calling for Adoption Pre-Screening, Calling for Adoption Follow-Up, Home Visits, Fundraising, general help at adoptions, and Foster Homes for our dogs.
Who We Are
Wee Rescue is an Austin Texas based rescue group that rescues small (generally 20 pounds or less) dogs. Our primary focus is on Shih Tzus, Lhasa Apsos and Pekingese from Town Lake Animal Center. We are an all volunteer, non-profit rescue orrganization dedicated to saving the lives of abused, abandoned , unwanted Shih Tzus, Lhasa Apsos, Pekingese, and other small/toy breeds. The organization is funded entirely from donations and all the money collected is used solely to cover medical, grooming and other needs of these dogs. Our dogs come to us from local shelters, as strays and owner surrenders.
Adopting a friend
To adopt a dog from Wee Rescue, you need to fill out an application, and have a home visit. Our adoption fees are $250 which helps us to cover the costs associated with the dogs. Since home visits and follow-up visits are a requirement of the adoption process, we adopt out only to the Austin, TX Metro area.
Come Visit Us!
All of our dogs live in foster homes until adopted. During foster care we are able to evaluate the dogs and to find just the right home for them. If you would like to meet our dogs, please come to our adoption days. We do also schedule between adoption visits.
