Buddy & Macey came to us from a dog camp, there were over 100 dogs on one property! They have been with us since Nov. of 2011.
Both of these sweet babies have great personalities, but they also have some trust issues. Buddy is a sweet boy, once you bring out the treats he is your BEST friend.
It takes him about a week or two to warm up to new staff members or Volunteers, but once you've gained his trust he is an awesome dog.
He listens really well and just wants to be on your lap and getting love and attention. He also loves to run around with all the other dogs!
Macey on the other hand does not seek attention,However she also loves her treats, and will of course come to you for those.
She takes a little longer to warm up to you, and still will not just run to you for attention. Macey is more of loaner, she enjoys attention on her terms,
she does however LOVE other dogs. She has never had any problems with any dogs she has played with. She would be a great companion for another dog.
Who We Are
The Hill Country SPCA is the only non-profit, no-kill animal shelter providing services to the Texas Hill Country.
Our funding comes strictly from donations, grants, and fundraising events. We are not supported by tax dollars.
Because every single animal has value, the Hill Country SPCA is dedicated to:
*Preventing cruelty and neglect of domesticated animals in the Texas Hill Country
*Reducing the number of homeless and unwanted companion animals
*Eliminating euthanasia of unwanted animals
*Fostering responsible pet ownership
*Providing shelter and placement services for homeless and unwanted animals
From October, 1997 through December, 2006, the Hill Country SPCA has found loving homes for more than 2200 unwanted dogs and cats and has paid for an additional 2500 dogs and cats to be spayed or neutered at NO COST to their owners.
Adopting a friend
Are you interested in adopting a new companion from us? Here at the HCSPCA our adoption process is fairly simple.
A typical adoption goes something like this…
1.Stop in and visit us at the Hill Country SPCA & Find a dog or cat you are interested in.
2.Our staff will find space either inside or outside for you to spend some one-on-one
time and get to know each other.
3.Once you have decided on one of our pets, complete and submit an adoption
application. It takes us approximately 24 hours to process each pet application. Pets do not go home the same day the application is submitted.
4. When the application has been processed, a staff member will call to let you know if you have been approved.
5. Upon approval, we will arrange a time when you are able to come back to Hill Country SPCA.
If you have any current animals we ask that at this point you bring them in to
meet with your potential new pet. You will also complete final adoption paperwork, and pick up your new pet.
Note: If you are traveling from a long distance, but are still interested in adopting it would be in your best interest to submit and application ahead of time
that way you don't have to make a second trip. We WILL NOT approve an application the same day it is submitted even if you travel from a distance.
