Puppies and dogs enter our program from area shelters and stay at a private mini shelter until foster homes become open or new fosters sign on, then the dogs are transferred out to the foster for training before going to new families. If there are no available fosters, the dogs reside at the shelter until they are adopted.
Our commitment to the potential adopter and to our dogs, is to screen all applications carefully to find the very best match between the needs of the adopter and our dog.
Our adopted dogs are eligible for:
Two weeks of free puppy classes and $25 off of any puppy or adult classes at Buddy's Chance
Free training consultation and $20 off any training service at Action Pack Dogs
Free home manners class and $15 off any training service at Hearts and Paws
PLEASE HELP US GIVE OUR RESCUED DOGS PERMANENT SHELTER!
Presently the majority of our rescued dogs and puppies stay in outside chain link kennels with gravel base and igloos all year long. We really want to build them a nice building where they will be comfortable during their stay here while awaiting their new forever home. Can you help?
Forgotten Friends has come a long way over the past couple of years, thanks to the support of many loyal donors. We have a nice little indoor facility with several covered play yards that provide safe and comfortable shelter for the dogs. See photos
With our main building complete, we are now focusing on a 2nd building that will serve as a quarantine and recovery area for new dogs and those that are recovering from surgery. The original plan was to have the 2nd building serve as a big dog building, but we have realized that the first building can accommodate dogs of all sizes and the board has determined that a medical area is a more urgent need.
To help us complete the shelter at the sanctuary, please donate to the Building Fund. Also needed are volunteers with experience in the following areas: Electrical, Plumbing, and build outs including flooring, walls and air conditioning. Fencing experts would be great also!
Thank you for your support in making our dreams for our dogs come true!!
OUR FOSTER PROGRAM
We always need new foster homes. If you would consider fostering a homeless dog, please e-mail us. Every time you foster a dog, you save a life.
