Who We Are

The SPCA of Texas is dedicated to providing every animal exceptional care and a loving home.

The SPCA of Texas is the leading animal welfare agency in North Texas. The 501 (c)(3), non-profit organization operates two shelters and three spay/neuter clinics located in Dallas and McKinney, and maintains a team of five animal cruelty investigators to respond to thousands of calls in eight North Texas counties. Moreover, the SPCA of Texas serves as an active resource center for an array of services that bring people and animals together to enrich each other's lives.

The SPCA of Texas is not affiliated with any other entity and does not receive general operating funds from the City of Dallas, State of Texas, federal government or any other humane organization.

Adopting a friend

All potential adopters are required to visit the SPCA of Texas in person. Regular adoption fees are $95-$125 for puppies 0-6 months, $75-$95 for adult dogs 6 months or older, $50 for senior dogs 7 years or older, $50 for VIP dogs, $75 for cats, $95 for kittens, $50 for senior cats 7 years and older and $50 for VIP cats. The adoption fee includes spaying/neutering, initial vaccinations, de-worming, a microchip and a leash for dogs and pet carrier for cats. Dogs over 6 months of age are also given a heartworm test (SNAP occult). Cats over 4 months of age are also given a feline Leukemia test.
