Individuals wishing to adopt a pet must complete an adoption application followed by an interview with an adoption counselor.
All of these animals have received their first set of vaccinations, will be tested for heartworms or feline leukemia, will be spayed or neutered and Micro-chipped and are just waiting for a permanent home with a caring new owner. Even with providing all of these services, the most it ever costs to adopt a pet from us is just $60!
All of our animals are altered prior to the finalization of the adoption. All adoptions are first-come, first-served. We do not normally ship animals so adopters must be able to come to our shelter to pick their new family member up or make all shipping arrangements. Adopters are responsible for all shipping charges. Breed Groups must have a Rescue Agency Agreement on file along with a copy of their 501(c)(3) with the city before they can pick up any animal from our shelter.
We work hard to ensure that an appropriate match is made so that the relationship will be one that lasts a lifetime. Part of this program includes education regarding the proper care of the new pet, how to handle common problems that may arise, and what responsibilities you have as a new pet owner.
All of the pets showcased on these pages are available for adoption to good homes. If you are interested in giving one of our homeless animals a second chance for a good life, please call (806) 775-2700. If you love animals and can't have a pet the next best thing is to volunteer your time and services at your local shelter. Not only will the staff love you but you will make a difference in an animals life. Lubbock Animal Adoptions always need volunteers for all reasons from, working with the animals to posting pictures on our website.
