We have so many wonderful pets that it's difficult to call just one of them Pet of the Month. They are all wonderful, precious in their own way, and in need of loving homes. If you don't see the pet you're looking for please call us and let us know what you're looking for - we may have just the perfect pet for you and your family and it just hasn't been logged in yet!
Please don't forget how wonderful adult cats and dogs are - you know what their temperament is, how loving they are, and whether they like other cats or dogs. Kittens and puppies are cute and cuddly but you never know what they will be like when they grow up - sounds kind of like our own human children doesn't it!
Our dogs/puppies are shown at our San Antonio PetsMart location (Westover Market Place at the intersection of Hwy 151 and Loop 410 NW) and our new Petco adoptions at Loop 410 NW and Ingram Park next to Best Buy. Our dog adoptions are on Saturdays from noon til 4:00. Come by and visit us and our furry babies! Our kitties are at the Westover Market Place shopping center and Petco (Loop 410 NW and Ingram Mall next to Best Buy) daily from 3:30 - 8:30. Call 830-751-2595 for more information.
Please check out our upcoming events at:
and join us at our bake sales and adopt-a-thons on selected Saturdays and Sundays at our Petsmart store (Highway 151 & Loop 410 NW) and our Petco adoption center. Please help us help these precious babies by opting to adopt!
Who We Are
Animal Welfare Society of Bandera County (AWSBC) rescues animals from numerous animal control agencies as well as from the public. We are dedicated to helping stray and abandoned animals (especially ones that we know will be killed quickly) as well as those that have illnesses that other agencies can't help. Our mission is to provide shelter for abandoned/abused/neglected animals as well as educating the public regarding TNR, animal welfare, and cruelty issues. Shelter rescues are first and top priorities but if space is available we will intake from the public.
We are in desperate need of volunteers. Even if you can't foster a dog or cat, we need help in cleaning cages, playing with the animals, and walking dogs. Are you artistic? A good public speaker? A fundraising guru? Good with children? We need people to help run a booth, prepare a school program or help design brochures. If you have the time - we can put you to work! Please come by one of our adoption centers on Saturdays from noon til 4:00 and visit with us. You can contact us at (830) 751-2595 or visit our web site at www.awsbc.org.
Right now with the influx of kittens and puppies, your donations are critical to the health and welfare of these babies. The cost to raise kittens and puppies up to adoption time is very expensive. Please won't you help us help the animals?!
Adopting a Friend
Our dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, bordetella given, microchipped and up-to-date on shots prior to adoption. We also make sure they are flea and parasite free. Our dog adoptions will range in price from $100 - $200 depending on breed and size.
Our cats/kittens are current on their shots, spayed/neutered, feline leukemia/FIV tested, microchipped and parasite free. Our adoption donations range in price (from $85 to $150 depending on the breed and medical needs).
We are a "No Kill" agency and treat every treatable animal. Check out our success stories at our web site, www.awsbc.com. Your donations have allowed us to give these babies quality medical attention and a new chance at having a good life.
Come Visit Us!
All our cats are in foster homes. Our dogs are either at our shelter or placed in foster homes. Special needs pets are placed in "special" foster homes who can give them the care they need. Your donations to the "AWSBC Shelter Project" will make a huge difference in the number of animals we can save. Please mail your donations to AWSBC, P. O. Box 64038, Pipe Creek, Texas 78063.
