The Humane Society of Southeast Texas is dedicated to preventing cruelty to animals. We provide and protect the abandoned, abused, and unwanted animals in our community and attempt to find them loving homes. We are not animal control nor are we part of any national humane organization. The Humane Society of Southeast Texas is a not-for-profit organization. All of our operations, programs and services depend on the tireless efforts of staff members, volunteers, and the contributions of people and organizations who share our goal in creating a more responsible and humane community that benefits both people and animals.
We also have "Adoption Saturdays" at the local PetsMart store from 12:00 noon to 4:30pm on the 3rd Saturday of each month.

Adopting a friend
If you are ready to open your heart and home to a friend for life please visit the shelter. All our animals have had their basic shots, received medical care, been wormed and are waiting for the perfect friend to take them home. All animals must be spayed or neutered as soon as they are old enough.

Our adoption hours at the shelter are: Tuesday through Sat. 11:30am-4:30pm. Direction to the shelter: From the East and downtown area, take MLK Blvd south to Ohio and turn left. Follow the curved road to the shelter.
From the North and West side of town,take I-10 to south 69,96,287 to Pt.Arthur. Take the MLK exit. Turn left on MLK, go to Ohio (the 1st light) and make a right. Follow the curved road to the shelter, on your left.
Dont forget "Adoption Saturdays " at PetsMart, 6430 Eastex Frwy, Beaumont Texas, from 12:00 noon to 4:30pm on the 3rd Saturday of each month.
