Our Mission
PAWS Shelter and Humane Society (PAWS) was founded in 1986 as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, and has been providing care and love to all those who enter our doors in continuous service ever since. PAWS is a NO-KILL shelter serving Central Texas that believes in second chances! At PAWS, companion animals who enter our doors, through no fault of their own, are given medical attention, care, and love for however long it takes for us to find them a loving home.
PAWS is relentless in our effort to save lives and change lives. Our efforts in that regard include:
Holding offsite adoptions to get the animals out into the community.
Fully vaccinating and microchipping our animals so that they can begin their long, happy lives with their new owners, “fully equipped!”.
Visiting local community groups and schools to educate our community on responsible pet ownership.
Making sure that every animal in our care gets the medical attent

If you are interested in adopting a new pet, PAWS will help find a match for you. All that we ask is that you give our animals happy, loving forever homes.
We encourage you to talk to our staff about the kind of pet you are looking for. They know the animals and will help you find your personality match. If you find a dog or cat that you like, then we encourage you to spend some time bonding with them before you make up your mind. We have special areas at the shelter where you can walk and play with them to get to know them better.
