Texas Cattle Dog Rescue (TCDR) is a non-profit, 501(c)3 animal welfare organization dedicated to rescuing and providing medical care, foster care and placement to stray and abandoned Australian Cattle Dogs (ACDs), also known as heelers. TCDR rescues strays and dogs from shelters throughout Texas. We find new, loving homes all across the state for our dogs. Learn more about heelers.
Reduce the shocking number of cattle dogs that are euthanized in Texas shelters.
Match each rescued dog with a forever home where he/she will be loved, cared for and fully enjoyed and appreciated.
Educate current and future owners so fewer ACDs will end up abandoned or in shelters.
Spay and neuter our dogs. We strongly believe in spaying and neutering all pets. TCDR dogs will also be vaccinated and heartworm tested before going to a new home
The more foster homes we have, the more dogs we can save. By fostering, you give a temporary home to a dog that would otherwise be euthanized or abandoned. Foster assignments tend to be short term while a dog recovers from surgery, undergoes heartworm treatment or awaits a forever home. Learn more about fostering or contact our foster coordinator.
Fostering isn't the only way to help. There are many ways to help TCDR help heelers. See the dogs we've been able to help thanks to the generous support of heeler lovers. Check out our Happy Tails. Donations of any size are gladly accepted and help defray the cost of veterinary care and supplies. Every penny we collect goes toward the care of our cattle dogs and donations to TCDR are tax deductible. Visit our website and click the yellow Donate button to be directed to PayPal.
