BLU JUSTICE is the Newest refugee to our sanctuary!. 05-18-10 This poor baby boy is a case of EXTREME abuse and starvation.He was kept in a 20 ft x 20 ft corral.He was also tied up on a very short rope that kept him from moving.. He was starving to death and severely underweight. THANK- GOD above for his rescue by county officials. We picked him up from a local vet clinic, where he had been residing in legal limbo for 7 months.He is now legally ours and in our holistic- healing rehab.It has been a long ,horrible journey for him.. He is a special guy who never gave up .He has a kind,forgiving nature. He has a wonderful, spirit. and a strong will to survive...He is about 5 years old and 13 hands high..He is gelded,wormed and up to date on vaccinations.His hooves have had a good trimming . He is working out with our official trainer_Mike Davis_ .Mike is so patient in teaching him about treats,ground manners,trust and love.. He now has a huge pasture to run,kick up his heels and be a horse for the first time in his life.To our knowledge he has NEVER EVER had room to run - graze or have horsey friends.The first time he trotted off,it seemed to baffle him to have so much room all his very own...We will update his pictures often so you can see his amazing recovery. Gypsyheart Horse Rescue is a non-profit- horse,donkey and large animal sanctuary. Animals who come here will find,love,peace,hope and holistic healing .We will provide all areas of care including,but,not limited to total care from a great mobile vet-Dr Kody Kothman-great farrier care- Tony Keeth and a TEXAS ton of plain ole LOVE and HUGS! GHR-Gypsyheart Horse Rescue continues to be a work in progress with 20 acres of land to build on and grow.We offer loving pet and stress reduction therapy to members of our beloved troops .We have 2 mini horses Odie and Lily in training as therapy horses for special need children and adults.It is our goal to find forever homes for our equine and match adopters with forever friends! We have been saving 1 horse at a time since 2003. As of March 10,09 we are an official 501(c)3 non profit organization serving our own and precious hometown- Lubbock- and surrounding communities.Please note all donations are tax deductible.We have need of hay,grain,fencing,wormers,halters, lead ropes,vouchers for vet and farrier care..THANK-YOU LUBBOCK!
Adopting a friend
We here at GHR supply informed and honest education BEFORE our adopters apply for our horses.It is important to educate about proper nutrition,vet care,hoof care,dental care,handling and riding,.It is important that people are honestly educated about the life expectancy of equine.It is often longer than 25 years! GHR requires all horses adopted from us be returned for "below or at the same adoption fee" if problems arise and adopter can no longer keep or provide proper care for our rescues.
