Who We Are
The City of Mesquite Animal Services Division is dedicated to rabies eradication, reducing animal euthanasia and controlling the animal population through a cooperative effort with the community.
Accomplishing this will require:
Quick and courteous responses to service requests
Promoting animal placements by increasing animal adoptions
Establishing working relationships with animal rescue organizations
Providing education to the members of the community on rabies eradication, animal care and disease prevention and animal
population control
The responsibility and accountability for achieving these objectives are shared by each staff member. Employees are responsible for understanding the relation of their job duties to the dedication of the division in respect to the objectives listed above. The success of the division is directly related to the commitment each member is willing to extend to their community.
With sincere commitment, Mesquite Animal Services will assure the citizens of Mesquite that we will work diligently towards making a difference by adding another life-saving service to our community.
Adopting a friend
Effective October 1, 2009 adopted animals will be sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped before being adopted. Fees for pet adoptions will increase from $45 to $60 for cats and $80 for dogs to cover the cost of these services. City registration of the pet is required for Mesquite residents and is also included in the new costs.
If you reside in the City of Mesquite, and you provide proof that these requirements have been fulfilled, you will also receive a City registration tag for your adopted pet.
Help save a life. Adopt a friend for life!
