Wimberley A.R.F. Needs Your Help!
A.R.F. is here to save a pet's life.
Do you have the heart to help with our foster families program? Do you have a talent for taking photographs of pets? Do you have an interest in dog training? If so you could become part of a growing group of volunteers who are dedicated to helping make a difference one dog and cat at a time.
How can you help? By volunteering to foster a small, medium, or large pet, either short-term (under a few weeks) or long term (up to months). You can put your talent at photography to work by taking photographs of our growing group of dogs, puppies, kittens, and cats. If your skills include working with PhotoShop so much the better! Love the idea of becoming a dog trainer? Why not get some hands-on experience by transporting our program's dogs to and from a local dog trainer and acting as their "handler?"
Last year our program helped over 150 rescued animals find new homes. We pride ourselves in giving our "babies" the comfort of a home-like environment. Since ARF is the only rescue organization in Wimberley, Texas we are certain that many people in our community want to help. However, most people may not know what we need. We have a myriad of volunteer opportunities so if you have a specific interest or a few spare hours a week or a month by all means contact us!
Here is a list of additional volunteer opportunities:
Help with Petfinder listings, tracking adoptions, uploading images of newly available pets, regular updates of featured pets, writing descriptions of pet's personalities and breed types. This position is fantastic for anyone wanting to volunteer who has a home computer, a fast internet connection, and a few spare hours a week. It will involve very little driving and can be done from your own home computer at your own pace. Some HTML knowledge is helpful but not necessary.
Help with placing pet Lost/Found posters in the area around Wimberley as needed. ARF fields calls from people who have found a dog/cat or lost a dog/cat. If we can obtain a description of the pet or an image of the pet ARF will help distribute posters in prominent places. This requires a person to have their own transportation and the position is on an "as needed" basis. This position can also be combined with pick up and delivery of dog/cat food, cat litter, and other supplies needed for the ARF sanctuary and foster families. This position involves just a few spare hours a week.

These cute kittens just arrived!
These kittens need a home! They are happy and well-socialized and are now ready for their forever homes. These little ones are from the same litter, some are medium long-haired, some are shorter haired. All have flame-points.

ARF is a completely private, non-profit community service, a 501(c)(3) organization, that provides a central number for lost and found pets, rescue for those pets in need, and adoption service for people who must find their pet a new home. We also help with spay/neuter costs for families in need of this service.

Animal Referral Friends (ARF)
Adopting a friend
To adopt a cat or kitten please call Sonja on the ARF line at 512-847-2878.
There is an adoption fee for all cats and kittens:
$50 for a kitten
$100 for an adult
Senior, semi feral or special needs cats adoption fee negotiable
Our adoption fee includes the cat's spay/neuter. All kittens are dewormed and have received an FVI and FVL test. As a non-profit your adoption fee goes directly back into our rescue program so we can help other homeless cats and kittens.

There is an adoption fee for all dogs and puppies
$175 for a mixed breed adult
$200 for a purebred dog or puppy
$175 for a mixed breed puppy
$80 for a senior
This fee includes up-to-date shots, d-worming, heart worm check, spay/neuter, and any other medical needs the dog might have needed. Only Wimberley, San Marcos, or nearby residents will receive a spay/neuter voucher for a puppy. This is because our vouchers are only valid locally. Please remember that your adoption fee goes right back into the rescue program to help other homeless dogs and puppies find a home.
Please, no out of state inquiries, we do not place our dogs outside the Texas area.
Guidelines for dog adoption:
A fenced yard.
A home visit.
A veterinarian reference if you own pets or three references if you do not own pets.
If you own companion animals (dogs/cats) they must be spayed/neutered.

You can view our adoptable cats and kittens at the Blue Willow store in Wimberley, Texas (14008 Ranch Road 12) or make an appointment with Sonja to view one of sanctuary cats 512-847-2878.
To view our adoptable dogs please call Gyvel at 830-833-1874 or email her at gzy@txwinet.com. All our dogs/puppies are fostered in private homes. A pre-adopt application and a home visit will be completed before any of our puppies can be viewed. You can obtain a pre-adopt application by going to the ARF web site (see above link) and downloading it.
