Baytown Animal Services Adoption Policy

If you are considering adopting a homeless dog or cat, Baytown Animal Control a.k.a. Baytown Animal Services would like to hear from you! Our Adoption requirements are simple: Come in and get to know the animals at the shelter. We have pets to suit any family, and we receive new dogs and cats every day. To adopt an animal from this facility you must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license. Animals that are spayed or neutered have an adoption fee is $10.00. If the animal is not altered, the fee is $50.00, with $40.00 returned to you in the form of a voucher to be used toward neutering or spaying of the animal. We require that you have this done within one month of the adoption date. You are required to take your pet to the vet within 24 hours for a check-up and rabies vaccination. Your pet has been in a shelter environment and may not have had any vet care before arriving here. This visit will insure the health of your new pet for many years to come. You must sign an adoption contract to make sure these requirements are met. It is very important that the animals adopted from our shelter meet the vaccination requirements of our city and county, and that they will never contribute to the pet overpopulation problem. Please research the personality traits of your new pet before choosing to take them home. This will ensure your new pet's personality can fit into your family's lifestyle. They have already been in the shelter once, we hope they never have to see this facility again! Cash or Check --NO Credit Cards
