News

Here lately we have good luck with adoptions but, we have a long way to go to get all of our animals adopted into loving homes. These past few months the shelter has made some changes with a new look in the office to make the public feel more welcome. Come on down and have a look and give one of our special little friends a new home.

Who We Are

Our goal is to provide loving homes for all the wonderful animals that come thru our shelter. We are working toward stopping the overpopulation & diseases by educating and encouraging people to spay/neuter & vaccinate with regular health checkups to the vet for your smallest family member. We experience all too often the heartbreak of having to say goodbye to these special animals so please join our fight to help save their lives by making a place in your home for them and help stop this cruel reality.

Adopting a friend

Requirements for adoptions are as follows: After finding the new friend that you would like, call or email to see if they are still available. If they haven't found a forever home and you would still like to adopt them, you will need a prepaid receipt from your vet for a spay/neuter and rabies shot with a date set up for both. Bring this with you and a current ID or Drivers License. If your new friend is already altered and has had shots there will be an adoption fee which will be adjusted according to the vet care the animal has received. Our basic fee is $75.00. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Come Visit Us!

Our shelter is located at 1685 N FM 56 in Somervell Co. We are 3/4 of a mile from US Hwy. 67. If you are coming East going West on US Hwy. 67 at the red light turn right onto FM 56 N and turn left if going West to East. Go about 3/4 of a mile up 56N and on the left side you will see gray metal building with a red marker by the gate marked 1685. This is your destination. Pull into the parking lot and come on in. If we are not here there are phone numbers on the front door to call to get ahold of Town Hall or the Sheriff's Dept. to let us know you are here and we will be right back. We are open to the public Monday - Friday 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Closed on weekends.
