We are a nonprofit, no kill shelter for unwanted animals or those whom are picked up when we get a call.
We are run strictly by volunteers and we pay for everything out of our own pockets. We really need funding and supplies. Twenty five dollars feeds 5 of our iguanas for a week
The meat eaters all get frozen and that is quite a list especially since most of our snakes are very large.

IF YOU HAVE ANY REPTILES, SMALL ANIMALS AND/OR EXOTICS OR ANY ANIMALS THAT NEED A GOOD HOME LET US KNOW WE WILL BE GLAD TO HELP IN ANY WAY POSSIBLE. WE CAN TAKE THE ANIMAL IN AND FIND A GOOD LOVING HOME FOR IT.<br><br>

Who We Are
FOUNDED IN 1996 Pets Are Us Rescue has been saving many of the uncommon animals in the pet trade industry. Many of these animals are misunderstood or have grown bigger than expected (iguana's and snakes). We try to educate as much as possible are always available for care of these animals. Over the years there have been many people whom love these animals and have applied as volunteers. All our volunteers go through a very demanding and grueling process to become a member. They do this with their own money and dedication to these animals. All volunteers have specialized in different areas of the pet industry. We supply as much information as possible about the animal you are adopting!!!!
We also offer educational programs, we go to schools. boy scouts, girls scouts, we even offer educational birthday parties, the kids love them and learn at the time. Unfortunately we do not have room for dogs or cats but will list them on our page and help assist you in any way to find them a forever home.
PETS ARE US RESCUE IS A TOTALLY VOLUNTARY ORGANIZATION. WE HAVE NO PAID EMPLOYEE'S, ALL ANIMALS ARE HOUSED AT HOMES TO ENSURE 24-7 CARE. THIS ENABLES A MORE STABLE PETS AND ADOPTION. WE DO NOT SHIP ANY ANIMALS NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!!!!!! Over 1000+ of our animals have found good homes and are very happy. Many keep in touch and we have watched them grow over the years, it is very rewarding. NO ANIMALS LEAVE OUR RESCUE UNTIL THEY ARE READY TO BECOME SOMEONES BELOVED PET. All animals go through our testing to ensure they are a candidate for adoption, this includes personality, condition, All our animals must be social and handiable and healthy! Although we can never ensure their health, the same as all animals there is never a guarantee on any animal adopted. Care sheets go with each animal. If you need veternarian reference we will be glad to help you. We do offer to take back any animal at anytime, ADOPTION FEE NON REFUNDABLE. Our animals come to us in many different ways, unwanted, feel they are not spending enough time with the pet and want them to get a good home, sick, or picked up from a call by the zoo, the police, etc, there are many different situations .PEOPLE ENTRUST THEIR BELOVED PET TO US, WE HONOR ALL THEIR REQUESTS AND KEEP THE ANIMALS UNTIL A SUITABLE CANDIDATE ARRIVES. THEY ARE SOME OF THE MOST LOVEABLE ANIMALS SINCE THEY ORIGINATED FROM LOVING, CARING HOMES!!.
We love to hear from children who wish to learn more about animals and wildlife. They are more than welcome to email us our sites are recommended for all ages unless stated. WE HAVE BEEN FEATURED IN MANY SCHOOL REPORTS, ALONG WITH INTERVIEWS FOR NEWSPAPERS AND OTHER FORMS OF COMMUNICATIONS,
NOT ALL OUR ANIMALS COME FROM LOVING HOMES SOME ARE NEGLECTED AND IN REALLY BAD SHAPE AND CONDITION. WE LET THEM KNOW THAT WE LOVE THEM SUPPLY THEM WITH THE VERY BEST MEDICAL CARE. WE SEE HOW THEY CHANGE AND BECOME HEALTHY AND LOVEABLE AND THAT IN IT SELF IS VERY REWARDING!

Yes they were volunteers but we want happy healthy pets, there are many reasons we remove volunteers!!! And are very strict with our guidleines being followed, those that break them are removed immediately!!!! We are professionals and being rude or nasty to another rescue qualifies for immediate dismisal, along with blatenly ignoring our rules. We have a good reputation and will do all that is necassary to maintain it.

Many of our reptiles and small animals have gone into the schools all around Texas for education. Below you see an address to send donations to please keep our reciept for tax purposes. we are in desperate need of funds, we do not want to turn away any animals and are a no kill shelter.
