Almost all our dogs live at Doberman Rescue of North Texas in Grand Prairie and are available for approved adopters to meet during our weekly Open House every Sunday between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. However, a few dogs may be living in foster homes to free up space for new arrivals, so please note on your application which dog (or dogs) you wish to meet so we can make sure the dog will be there for you to meet upon your visit.
Directions to Doberman Rescue of North Texas. We not only help dogs, we also help people. Sometimes it's someone who met a Doberman as a child and couldn't shake the strong connection they felt with the breed. Other times, it's families grieving from a recent loss. Still others want to learn more about the breed. Our volunteers spend time with each potential adopter, share stories, explain the personalities of each dog, and help adopters figure out what dog is best suited to their home. In each case, we get the pleasure of seeing faces light up as a new best friend is found. Here are a few heartwarming stories.
Chisholm came to us from the Oklahoma City shelter, where he was going to be euthanized for lack of space. He waited for 9 months before the right home was found in April 2012 and is now happily residing in Dallas, four smaller dogs, and a cat. Renamed Chance, "French for 'luck,'" his new owners say, he goes to work every morning with his dad.

Laura found her new home in April and goes to horse shows with her owner.
In 2012, we placed 120 Dobermans in new homes!
