Help the Kingtown Dogs

On August 13, Nacogdoches, Texas county authorities raided a suspected puppy mill and seized 118 dogs. Volunteers from the community and a coalition of animal welfare organizations worked to care for these dogs, to see them adopted, and to get them safely into foster care. The photo below shows Deedee, one of the puppies from the raid. Like most of the other dogs rescued that day, Deedee required extended treatment to get rid of the hookworms and whipworms that were draining her strength. She is now healthy, happy and ready for her new home (see more information on our Adoptable Pet List). Many of the other dogs still need veterinary treatment, time and care to return them to health. Won't you help bring them all the way home? To donate, click below. To see images from the raid and more pictures of the dogs, please click on our website: www.stfrancisrescuenac.com

Who We Are

Gus

St. Francis Rescue Nacogdoches is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit animal rescue organization. Although we sometimes are able to help other animals, our focus is on dogs identified as pit bulls and on American bulldogs. Our mission is to reduce the number of abandoned or mistreated pit bulls through:

1. Education: of the public, on the characteristics of these wonderful dogs; and of pit bull caretakers about the responsibilities of having this type of dog as a companion

2. Assistance: with spay/neuter and other medical expenses for responsible owners.

3. Rescue, rehabilitation and placement: we foster or sponsor pit bulls in need of veterinary care, food, shelter or protection from cruelty in order to place them in responsible, loving homes. All our animals are evaluated for temperament, receive all immunizations, are microchipped, and are spayed or neutered prior to placement.
