Who We Are St. Francis Rescue Nacogdoches is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit, no-kill animal rescue organization. Although we sometimes are able to help other animals, our focus is on dogs identified as pit bulls and on American bulldogs. Our mission is to reduce the number of abandoned or mistreated pit bulls through: 1. Education: of the public, on the characteristics of these wonderful dogs; and of pit bull caretakers about the responsibilities of having this type of dog as a companion 2. Assistance: with spay/neuter and other medical expenses for responsible owners. 3. Rescue, rehabilitation and placement: we foster or sponsor pit bulls in need of veterinary care, food, shelter or protection from cruelty in order to place them in responsible, loving homes. All our animals are evaluated for temperament, receive all immunizations, are microchipped, and are spayed or neutered prior to placement.
