PugHearts of Houston is a non-profit rescue dedicated to giving unwanted and neglected Pugs a second chance. PugHearts was formed by a group of volunteers whose lives have been touched by this special breed of dog. The need is great; according to the Houston Bureau of Animal Regulation and Care (BARC), approximately 85,000 dogs and cats are euthanized every year because they are unwanted.
Cindy R, founder of PugHearts of Houston, decided that she could make a difference by forming a Houston-based Pug Rescue. She has been involved in volunteer work through rescues for several years. Most recently she served as a foster mother for unwanted pugs through a Dallas-based rescue, but she knew Houston needed a rescue of its own.
PugHearts of Houston pug rescue is devoted to rescuing, treating and finding permanent homes for needy pugs in the Houston area. We believe that each pug is an individual and has special needs that can be matched to a forever home. We wish to create families and friendships that will embody our vision of "from our heart to yours".
