We are a non-profit organization comprised of a small group of volunteers that have regular jobs like regular people do and we take care of the rescue activities in our spare time (If any) and on weekends.
We do not own a shelter and all our dogs or cats are in foster homes so know that we do not have the capacity to pick up or take in animals from the public.
What We do
We pick up dogs and cats from neighborhoods where animals are treated as garbage, they are outside on their own, with no shelter whatsoever and they are exposed to multiple dangers, such as: People with resentment and hostility towards animals, careless drivers, mean kids, etc... They are in grace of what they can find in the dumpsters or garbage cans in rough and impoverished neighborhoods. They mate and have litters: these litters normally have no less than 5 puppies because they are from multiple fathers. Most of them will not survive because of the intestinal worms, poor hygiene conditions and infectious virus. The survivals will be sold in traffic lights for a few bucks, picked up by animal control, ran over, shot, or poisoned. What they have done to deserve all this misery and suffering? – This is a serious and never-ending people's problem that won't have a solution until the willingness to educate and create and enforce the laws to protect animals rather than destroy them takes place. Unfortunately, pets are considered "Property" and as such, they are inanimate objects and have no rights.
If you need help with a dog or cat you found, rescued or want to rehome you need to send a nice bio and pictures via email so we can network your animal with other rescue groups. If the dog/cat is in an unsafe situation consider taking it to a shelter such as citizens for animal protection (CAP), Houston Humane Society or Houston SPCA. If you send us information and pics we will try to get help for the animal. If the animal is injured consider taking it to a vet clinic or a shelter. Houston SPCA also has a free ambulance service 24 hrs. Be aware that no shelter in Houston area guarantees that the animal will be saved and put up for adoption. Please report animal abuse/neglect/cruelty whenever you witness (Speak up for the ones that have not voice!), go online and call Houston SPCA and/or Houston Humane Society.
Adopting a friend
We look for responsible and mindful dog owners willing to commit in the long term and capable of providing affection, appropriate medical care and loyalty until the end for the new family member. All our rescue dogs are in foster homes, we do not have a shelter so we tell you upfront how the dog behaves and if we think will fit in your life style.
