The Wise County Animal Shelter will hold its next transport for Denton Low Cost Spay Neuter on January 18th. The following transport will be on February 15.
The Wise County Animal Shelter is working with the Texas Coalition for Animal Protection in Denton, Texas to provide low-cost vaccinations and spay and neuter. For more information contact the Animal Shelter!
The Wise County Animal Shelter is currently in need of dry dog & puppy food, cat food, kitty litter, dawn dish soap, laundry detergent, dryer sheets and bleach. We accept any donations during our normal business hours. Every donation, no matter how small or large makes a difference!
Who We Are
Wise County Animal Services is a division of the Wise County Sheriff's Office and is the Animal Control Authority for the unincorporated areas of Wise County, Texas. Wise County Animal Services consists of 3 Licensed Animal Control Officers, Sergeant Moseley, Officer Hartfield,Officer Redder, Animal Shelter Technician Damon Munson and Office Clerk Linda Bryan. The Animal Services Division is contracted by several Wise County communities to provide animal control services to their citizens.
Adopting a friend
Our adoption fee is $25.00! As a new pet owner you will be responsible for having your new pet spayed or neutered and vaccinated for rabies.

We are located 2 miles South of Hwy. 287 on F.M. 51 South, in Decatur, Texas. We are open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for animal drop off. Shelter viewing hours are from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9:30 to 4:30 on Saturday.
From Denton: Take US 380 west 22 miles to US 81-287. take the US 81-287 south exit. Go 2 miles south on US 81-287 to the FM 51 exit. At the 2nd stop light turn right onto FM 51. Go approximately 3 miles south on FM 51. There is a green highway sign that lists the Wise County dumpsite. Our shelter is on the same road and is the last building before the dumpsite.
From Dallas: Take SH 114 west to US 81-287 north. Go approximately 14 miles north on US 81-287 through Decatur to the FM 51 exit. At the stop light turn left onto FM 51. Go approximately 3 miles south on FM 51. There is a green highway sign that lists the Wise County dumpsite. Our shelter is on the same road and is the last building before the dumpsite.
From Fort Worth: Go north on IH 35 W to the US 81-287 exit (Decatur cut-off). Go north on US 81-287 approximately 22 miles through Decatur to the FM 51 exit. At the stop light turn left onto FM 51. Go approximately 3 miles south on FM 51. There is a green highway sign that lists the Wise County dumpsite. Our shelter is on the same road and is the last building before the dumpsite.
