The German Shepherd Rescue of East Tennessee is committed to helping save German Shepherds in the East TN area. We do not have a shelter. Instead, all of our dogs are housed in foster homes. Each foster dog is spayed/neutered, brought up to date on all necessary vaccines, dewormed, tested for heartworms (treated if necessary) and microchipped before adoption. We also work on housebreaking and crate training each dog while they are in our care. We do not have a fence rule or any rules about not adopting to anyone with children. We do try to look at each potential adoptive family on a case by case basis and match the right dog to the right family. We do require all of our foster dogs to be inside dogs where they can be part of their new family.
If you are interested in adopting a German Shepherd please email gsdrescueofeasttn@gmail.com for an adoption application. This is the first step in the adoption process. After your application has been approved, someone will contact you to set up a home visit. Please understand that the German Shepherd Rescue of East TN is run by volunteers that work in addition to helping with the rescue. The best time to reach us by phone is from 7:00 pm-9:00 pm Monday - Friday and on the weekends.
