If you are interested in adopting a German Shepherd please email firstname.lastname@example.org for an adoption application. This is the first step in the adoption process. After your application has been approved, one of our volunteers will contact you to set up a home visit. Please understand that the German Shepherd Rescue of East TN is run by volunteers that work in addition to helping with the rescue. The best way to reach us is by email or through our Facebook page.
The German Shepherd Rescue of East Tennessee is committed to helping save German Shepherds in the East TN area. We do not have a shelter. Instead, all of our dogs are housed in foster homes. Each foster dog is spayed/neutered, brought up to date on all necessary vaccines, dewormed, tested for heartworms (treated if necessary) and microchipped before adoption. We also work on housebreaking and crate training each dog while they are in our care. We do not always require a fenced yard for adoptions and we will adopt to a home with young children depending on the dog and the families experience with the breed. The only absolute requirement we have is that all of our dogs must be inside dogs and are not to be left outside when no one is home. We do try to look at each potential adoptive family on a case by case basis and match the right dog to the right family.
