Come see the adoptable bassets at are our monthly adoption fairs in Knoxville. We're at AgriFeed Pet Supply the second Saturday of every month, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and at the PetSmart in Turkey Creek on the third Saturday of every month from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Who We Are
Belly Rubs Basset Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit breed rescue based in Knoxville, Tenn. BRBR has rescued nearly 400 bassets since 2006 and received grants from the Humane Society of the United States, Scripps Networks, Pedigree, PetSmart and Build-A-Bear Workshop Community Foundation.
Adopting a friend
Our rescued bassets live in the homes of BRBR volunteers across Tennessee. We do not have a shelter facility where you can see all of the bassets. The best place to see all the hounds is right here on the web. We also have regularly scheduled adoption fairs around the state where you can see some of the dogs. Check our web site for dates, times and locations.
To adopt a basset, fill out an online application. We prefer to adopt to homes with fenced yards as bassets tend to be wanderers. We check personal references, veterinary references and we do a home visit. We adopt out of state, but you'll have to make arrangements to get the dog to you. We don't have the manpower or the funds to deliver hounds.
