Who We Are
East C.A.N (Community Action Network) is an affiliate of Rediscover East, a 501c3 organization located in Nashville, Tennessee. Our mission is to make a positive and immediate difference in East Nashville by facilitating neighbors helping neighbors with animal welfare issues as well as human welfare projects. East C.A.N. is devoted to rescuing stray, abandoned and abused dogs and cats in East Nashville. Formed by neighborhood residents concerned by the increasing number of needy animals on our streets, East C.A.N. fosters dogs and cats until new loving homes can be found.
Adopting a friend
East C.A.N. adoptions begin with an application for adoption. After application approval, a home visit will be made by one of the East C.A.N. members. An adoption contract and adoption fee are the final steps but there is so much more to it!
One of the things that we pride ourselves on is not just being caring and thorough about adoptions, but with our support of our foster parents all the way through to supporting the chosen forever home. We like to stay connected and hear updates and stories of life with the animals at their new homes! If help is needed in training, we are here. Just need some advice? We are here? Want to have a play date? Call us! We want to know that every animal rescued from the streets is in the right place and that the new owners are happy and fully prepared for their new additions.
