DOUBLE DOG RESCUE was started by two sisters who wanted to make a difference in pet over population. What began as a small rescue operation has grown into a large network of northern and southern volunteers who work tirelessly to save dogs' lives. Double Dog South represents the southern part of our organization. Our volunteers are inundated with dogs and puppies that otherwise would be euthanized in local shelters It is a deeply saddening fact that dogs and puppies are euthanized for no other reason than simply lack of space, lack of compassion, and no regulating laws. The ASPCA is working towards a no kill society with their MISSION ORANGE. Until this goal is achieved DOUBLE DOG RESCUE will continue to aid rescuers in rural areas and place deserving dogs into approved homes where they can become the amazing companions they were meant to be.
Adopting a friend
Please contact the individual volunteer listed at the bottom of each dog's bio. Be aware that contacting the DDR South director instead will delay your inquiry. Often times the pup will have already been adopted.
Applications for consideration can be obtained from the volunteer assigned to the pup, via email or downloaded at our Double Dog website posted on the top of this page.
IMPORTANT: WE DO NOT HAVE A RESCUE FACILITY
We are a foster home and sanctuary based network. There is no one particular facility that the general public can visit. All potential adopters should contact the rescuer posting a pup for possible hands on interaction with an adoptee.
