...Franklin County Animal Control has finished construction of the new outdoor addition. We now have an additional 13 stalls and depending on the size of dog can house another 13-20 animals. There are some minor changes to the old building that will be completed soon. FCAC is proud to have this facility. Animal control used to be one gentleman with a small building. Due to hard work and perserverance, we have a new Director and 3 dedicated full time emloyees along with the new addition. We have added fencing and signage. We are working hard to provide Franklin County with a better program. Now we offer an adoption program and strive daily to better improve ourselves, our facility and the quality of life for our abandoned/stray pets. Looking forward to making even more changes for 2013!!
Who We Are
Franklin County Animal Control and the Consolidated Animal Control Board work hard to find homes for these animals. We hope to implement programs within our schools and to better educate pet owners. FCAC reminds everyone that it is the law to have your pet vaccinated for rabies and to please attach the tag to your pets collar. This aids in identification purposes of lost pets. We encourage everyone to spay and neuter. FCAC must enforce the running-at-large law so please keep your pets on your property to minimize angry neighbors. These are State Laws which includes Franklin County (city and county). Copies of the State Laws may be found on the Animal Control Association of TN website or the Companion Animal Initiative of TN website. Remember to be a responsible pet owner!
Franklin County Animal Control strives to reunite lost dogs with their owners and to place unclaimed dogs into good homes. We strongly recommend that pet owners display name and address on your pet collar along with the mandatory rabies tag to aid us in this process.
Adopting a friend
Franklin County Animal Control will keep adoption fees low so that pets will be affordable. Adoptions will be made with the understanding that the pet will be spayed/neutered within 30 days. With proof of the spaying or neutering, a refundable deposit will be returned to the new pet owner. There will also be a voucher included to have your pets rabies vaccination. The adoption fee is $46. If the pet has already been altered, the fee will be $21. Franklin County Animal Control works closely with our local veterinarians. Rabies vaccinations will be given the same day of adoption through Town and Country Veterinary Hospital. Animal Control also offers vet services prior to adoption with Dr. Kimberly Hambrick. A separate fee schedule for veterinary services may be obtained by contacting animal control.
