    Who We Are

The Humane Society of Lincoln County is a non-profit 501 (3) (c) organization. Our mission is to operate the animal shelter, reduce the overpopulation of cats and dogs, educate the local population on responsible animal ownership and seek justice for animal cruelty offenders and ensure the proper and humane treatment of all animals.

The Society was formed in 1985 by people distressed over the conditions at the local animal pound and concerned about the needs of orphaned, neglected and abused animals in the city and county.

At that time, the Society took over the operation of an Animal Shelter and the investigation of all animal cruelty cases. This is work which we continue to do.

Your participation is vital to our mission. Please join our fast growing list of members. Annual dues are $35 and that (and our fund raisers) help offset the tremendous cost of running the shelter. The greater the enrollment, the louder our voice in defense of all animals. . .

Due to the large turnover at our shelter, we have many animals that are not listed on Petfinder. Email or call us if you don't see the animal you want - we may have just what you're looking for. Please be persistant with the telephone. We are short staffed but really would like to talk with you.

Mail your membership dues to: The Humane Society of Lincoln County, PO Box 37, Fayetteville, TN 37334 Attn: Annual Membership

Could you provide a FOSTER HOME for a special animal? Sometimes we have newborn's, or sick animals that would be adoptable if they just had a few weeks of individual care, in a loving home. If you could provide this service, or know someone that can, please Email or call the Shelter for more information. 931-433-3726 or critters@ainweb.net

  • We must all do what we can to STOP THE LITTERING!!

    1. This means SPAY and NEUTER.
  • If you are from outside of Fayetteville-Lincoln County, Tennessee - you are most welcome to adopt a friend - but please provide us the name of your veterinarian so that we may use them for a reference. We really appreciate your support, and understanding.

Stop by and visit! You're always welcome.(Please call before you come - because of minimal staffing, we do not always have someone at the shelter).
