Who We Are
The Tennessee Humane Animal League is a 501(c)3 organization devoted to the placement of homeless or surrendered animals through The Pet Placement Center (PPC). The PPC survives entirely on donations and fund raising activities.
We are a NO-kill animal adoption center which means we have very limited space. Once an animal comes to the Pet Placement Center, it will remain with us until it is adopted into a responsible permanent home...
so we often have to turn people away due to lack of space.
The PPC is a private adoption center and does not do animal control or do animal pick ups.
WISHLIST
scoopable cat litter, Purina ONE kitten & puppy chow, Purina ONE dry cat & dog food, canned cat & dog food, paper towels, rubber gloves, monetary donations, and volunteers.
Adopting a Family Member
All potential adoptions are carefully screened. This is to ensure proper placement of each of our animals in a permanent home.
Our adoption fees are $40 for cats > 6 months, $40-90 for dogs > 6 months, $90 for kittens < 6 months, and $125 for puppies < 6 months.
The adoption fee for pedigree, full bred, and some mix breed pets is $125 and up depending on the age/breed.
The adoption fee includes a free veterinary exam within 2 weeks of adoption, up to date vaccinations, heartworm test (for dogs), heartworm preventative,
FELV/FIV test (for cats), deworming, flea treatment, microchip, and spay or neuter.
All adult animals are spayed/neutered before being placed up for adoption.
We do adopt outside the city and state, but we do not ship animals. All animals adopted out of the area must be picked up by their new owners and must be spayed or neutered before going home.
Bubba's Buddies
My name is Bubba Sue. I'm a resident kitty which means I am going to live my life here lounging in the office. That's OK with me. I'm a mature girl and I like my human family here. They give me lots of love and food. My favorite time of the day is lunch.
Since I've been here, I've seen lots of kitties come and go to their new forever homes. But there are also a lot of kitties who are overlooked for some reason or another. They are all healthy and friendly. I just don't understand it. I talked to my human friends about an idea I had to help these kitties. Everyone agreed and Bubba's Buddies was born.
The program is simple. We've reduced the adoption rate on Bubba's Buddies to $40 to help their chances of finding homes. You get the same great service and a wonderful new feline friend at a fraction of the cost. And on Forever Friends Friday (the last Friday of every month), these kitties are 1/2 price like every other kitty over 6 months of age and any dog that has been at the shelter longer than 6 months. That means Bubba's Buddies are only $20 on Forever Friends Friday.
Bubba's Buddies are all the adult cats and her dog friend Gunther.
Take a look at these wonderful companions!!!
