We are in desperate need of foster homes. If you can open your home and heart to help these special Bostons please contact Linda at LDStuberg@aol.com.

Who We Are

Southern Cross BTR is a 501(c)3 non-profit rescue grouop. We are a group of people who are devoted to the Boston Terrier. We treat them like one of the family and we love them like one of the family. We are here solely for their well being.

Our mission is to provide for the rescue, necessary medical treatment and temporary sheltering of the Boston Terrier breed of dogs from shelters, private individuals and city and county pounds for the purpose of future permanent adoption into loving, qualified homes desiring this particular breed of dog. The purpose behind this mission is humanitarian, e.g., to relieve the immediate suffering of these lost, displaced or disowned animals; and to adopt them into new and loving homes, and further to attempt to indirectly reduce the excess dog population and associated cost by means of a requirement of neutering/spaying of rescued animals prior to their adoption.

Adopting a friend

One of the biggest advantages to adopting a rescue dog is that you can really pick a dog that suits your lifestyle. Because the dogs live in a foster home, their foster parents can tell you everything about each dogs personality. They can tell you how they react around children, cats, and other dogs. You will be able to ask questions and you will be able to decide on the perfect match for you or your family. Many dogs end up in shelters and rescues because their owners were disappointed with the adult dogs their puppies grew up to be.

The most rewarding part of adopting a dog from a rescue is the deep bond that is formed. Rescued dogs look at their owners as their heroes. Having had a difficult start in life, they are unbelievably grateful and want only to please. Rescues are more often than not remarkably loving and devoted.

Choosing to adopt rather than to buy a dog is a compassionate choice, and the rewards are countless. If you or someone you know is looking to add a four-legged friend to their family, please remember that adoption is the caring option.
