PALS (Pets are Loveable Society)
Our Featured Pet...
Lily is a 15-20 lb terrier mix. She is around 4 months old and has all her shots and is wormed. She was given up due to a less-than-understanding landlord. She is friendly to all she meets and can't wait for her forever home. Please call Deanna at 423-304-6516 for more info.
News
**Every first, third, and fifth Saturday of each month, PALS is up at Petco on Stuart Road in Cleveland from 10:30 am to 4:00. We always have pets for adoption and plenty of low cost spay/neuter information. Please stop by for a visit!!!
Who We Are
Just imagine a world where each dog and puppy and cat and kitten has a loving home and there are no unwanted litters. This is PALS mission. PALS main focus is spay/neuter. America's tax dollars will pay for nearly 8 million adoptable pets to be unnecessarily killed this year. At the Cleveland Animal Shelter, there was an average 8000 euthanized last year. On average, only one in ten are adopted. Thirty percent are purebreds. PALS does try to take in shelter pets when possible.
We provide donated doghouses to pets in need. To find out what all is for adoption in PALS, call Jennifer Tanksley at 423-336-9861 or Steven Kinder at 423-284-5894.
PALS is in desperate need for donated dog or cat food. The recent ecomony has caused a major hit to us. We gets dozens of calls a week about people who have lost their homes, jobs, or just can't afford their pets anymore due to the cost of living jumping up and the need to surrender their pets. We get very few calls from people who are looking for a dog or cat to adopt. If you would like to help and donate some dry dog or cat food, pleast call Deanna at 423-304-6516.
If you are looking for a particular pet and don't see it on our pet list, please check with our local shelter, Cleveland Animal Shelter, at 423-479-2122. Or call Kathy at 476-9395. There are plenty of pets that we currently can't keep into foster homes because of space but we keep their name and number just in case someone calls looking for that specific breed.
Adopting a friend
All PALS foster pets must have their vaccinations and be spayed or neutered prior to adoption. The adoption fee is $25 for puppies and kittens to offset the costs of shots and deworming and $50 for adult dogs and cats to offset the cost for shots and altering. Once you adopt a puppy or kitten from us that is too young to get spayed or neutered, don't worry. PALS will make sure to help you when they are old enough.
Just think about it: If you had to pay child support for all the offspring from your pets, you'd be writing 63,000 monthly checks in just 7 years from now!!
