We are a tiny non-profit "mom-and-pop" dog rescue that fosters dogs from our rural community's "hold-and-kill" dog pound until they can be placed in permanent homes. Most of our rescues are gentle, calm, and well behaved -- and seem out of place in the pound settings we find them in. Adapting to the harshness and isolation of the pound is very difficult for them. So we bring them to our home and treat them like the pampered house pets they are meant to be. And, to the best of our ability, we learn about their temperaments, their likes and dislikes and what type of home they will be happiest in. And they thrive in our care, while they await their new homes.
Adopting a friend
We ask that you complete an adoption application which includes a vet reference. We also prefer to schedule a home visit to meet other members of your household and to see where the dog will live. If you are adopting from a distance, we ask that you email us digital photos of your home environment and we will conduct an interview with you over the phone. Upon approval, we will need an adoption fee and signed adoption contract. Our adoption fees vary from $35 to $150 depending on the type and age of the dog and the amount of medical treatment he or she has received in our care. In return for this you receive an animal that is likely to have received medical services that, if not provided by us, would cost you well in excess of $200.
