NOTICE...

***59 DOGS SENT TO EAST COAST. BEST FRIENDS ANIMAL SOCIETY AND COMPANION PET RESCUE & TRANSPORT TEAMED UP TO TAKE THESE DOGS TO OTHER RESCUE GROUPS IN VIRGINIA, NEW JERSEY, AND NEW YORK!!! Many of the Tennessee River Rescues dogs are moving out on August 23. These furbabies are being transported to New York & New Jersey for adoption through other rescue groups. This will help alleviate the lack of volunteers and lack of funding for dog food and medicine. Please check back in early September for new and updated photos of our remaining adoptable dogs. Mary Davis fell from a ladder on Sunday, June 10, and broke her leg - Tibial Plateau Fracture. She had surgery on Wednesday, June 20. Please keep her in your prayers. Mary will have a very long recovery period before she will be able to put weight on her right leg. If you can volunteer any time to help her out around the house, with yard work, tending to her many foster dogs, just anything - please call Barbara at 731-607-9587 who is coordinating volunteers. Please consider sending donations to help defray animal expenses of food, medicines, spay/neuter surgeries, & grooming. Adoption days are postponed indefinitely which means no funds will be coming in from adoptions. Mail donations to Tennessee River Rescues, 355 Angotti Road, Crump, TN 38327***

Please call 731-632-1603 or 731-727-4165 with questions about any of our adoptable pets.

Won't you give a Tennessee River Rescues' dog a loving and forever home?

WHO WE ARE

Mary Davis, founder of Tennessee River Rescues, works day and night to save and care for dogs in Hardin County, TN. We hope to adopt out or find rescue groups to place these dogs in good homes. The dogs may come from the local municipal high kill animal shelter, many dogs come in when the shelter is overcrowded and refuses them, others are owner turn-ins and/or strays. As space and donations allow, more dogs are brought in to our foster care. The municipal animal shelter does not accept "county" dogs so many of these dogs end up at Tennessee River Rescues as space allows. The less fortunate are dumped in rural areas or on shopping center parking lots and left to fend for themselves. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by the IRS. We are an IRS - 501 (c) (3) qualified non-profit organization.

ADOPTING A FRIEND

Adoption Fees for Dogs: $75 to $200. Spayed or neutered, up-to-date vaccinations. We are always OVERFLOWING and will reduce adoption fees on longer term pets if you meet all other requirements. Some medium and large dogs are available for lower adoption fee to qualified adopters. Fees for puppies and special "in-demand" breeds are usually higher. The cost of caring for each dog, whether or not he or she is adoptable, must be covered. Those hard-to-adopt dogs receive the same care as the easily adopted and cost just as much to have spayed or neutered, wormed, vaccinated, and to provide food and housing. We are a non-profit and funding is always needed to help all of the dogs in our care by providing veterinary care, food, supplies, and medicines to keep them healthy.
