Radar is a bundle of fun who is looking for an active family to unleash himself on. He is a young doberman / shepherd mix who is full of character. His foster family has done a great job with some basic obedience and he is very bright. However, with youth comes exhuberance, so he needs an active family who will ensure he gets activity as well as attention and training. Please call or email if Radar may be the dog for you.

Pugsley
Thanks to a very generous donation, Pugsley is ready to have the cataract surgery he so desperately needs. He also has found a wonderful forever family and is getting settled in with them prior to the big event. Thanks to all of you who have followed Pugsley's story and have kept him in your thoughts. The adoption fees charges by rescues rarely off set the vet expenses they incur. Without continued support from the community, many recue groups are forced to close their doors. Thanks so much for the continued support!
Who We Are
MASH is a group of animal enthusiasts who volunteer their time to help promote education, sterilization and life-long pet ownership in our community. Until the community at large is well informed about the overpopulation problem and knows what root-cause issues need to be addressed, the problem will continue to get worse. Unfortunately, there are just too many animals for rescues to absorb. However, MASH is committed to helping those we can.
Animals listed on our site are primarily kept in foster homes for evaluation and placement. In the event we are working with an animal that is still in a shelter, we have indicated that in the description. Although the animal may still be impounded, it has undergone initial tempermant screening and will continue to receive periodic evaluations until it is removed from the shelter.
If you need to ask our assistance in placing an animal, please e-mail so we can let you know what steps need to be covered prior to our posting the animal for you. Please remember we are all voulunteers who have families, jobs and in most cases multiple pets. We try to answer all e-mail within 72 hours. If you have not received a response in this time frame, please resubmit your request.
We are constantly looking for volunteers and other people like us who want to help animals in some capacity. If you would like a list of opportunites with MASH, please e-mail and we will send you a volunteer form. Fosters are always in great demand, however we have some great ideas for folks who may not be able to foster at this time.
Adopting a friend
Since most of the animals MASH works have been "previously loved" pets, they may come with a little baggage. Therefore it is extremely important that we try and place the right dog in the right home. These animals need the stability permenant placement affords. For these purposes we do require an application to be submitted, a phone interview completed, a vet reference available (or 2 personal references for 1st time pet owners), a home visit to be completed and finally a contract to be signed. Potential adopters who may be renting are required to provide either a note on company letterhead from their landlord stating what pets they are permitted to have or a copy of their lease stating what pets are permitted. In either case, if a pet deposit is required, a receipt of payment must be provided prior to the contract signing.
If at anytime an adoption does not work out, all animals are contractually obligated to come back to the rescue. We commit to these animals from "cradle to grave" and any third party placement is strictly prohibited. To view any of our forms, please e-mail and an e-copy will be sent to you.
