We are a very small facility that takes in an extremely large number of animals. As a result we are unfortunately a high kill shelter and all of our animals are on very limited time, and are therefore URGENT! We do our best to get these babies adopted out, but due to the lack of spaying and neutering in the area we take in large volumes of both cats and dogs. We are very rescue friendly and love to work with rescues trying to better the lives of these animals. **Please note that we do love to work with rescue, but we require the rescues to fill out a rescue application prior to adopting the animals. You can email us for the application. As for those just wanting to adopt, we are glad to have you come and visit, and we love for you to find a pet to make a part of your family! The more animals we can get into good, loving homes the better!! Please come and visit us - we get a LOT of good animals in here that deserve a better life than what they've lived. **Coming from Nashville you take hwy 65 North to exit 117. Turn right and go about 5 miles into Portland. At the first light turn left. Go approximately 1 1/2 miles and you will pass the police station on your right - *slow down. about a 1/4 of a mile past the station you will see a lumber yard on your left and a gas station right next to it. Turn in between the lumber yard and the gas station onto Morningside Drive. There is a sign that says Animal Control. Go to the 1st street on your right and the facility is the first building on your right (on the corner).
