If you don't see a piggie that interests you, PLEASE check back later! I am always finding piggies in need, and if I don't have one at the moment, I can probably refer you to someone who does.
Kat's Kritters IS NO LONGER ACCEPTING ANIMALS. It costs at least $200 a month for bedding and food, and I just can't afford it any longer. If you have a piggy or two that need to find homes, please try these steps:
1) List them at the Petfinder classifieds. It is free to do this, and it lets people in your area (as well as other areas) know that you have guinea pigs that need homes.
2) Put flyers up at places where there are people YOU KNOW (like church, or other group meetings). There may be people there who are wanting guinea pigs!
3) Please consider KEEPING your pets. Yes, they take time to care for, but that is a commitment you made when deciding to get a pet. If you got them for your children, and the children don't want to care for them anymore, giving them away only sends children the message that pets are temporary, and that it's ok to "get rid of them" when they are an inconvenience. Instead, make cleaning and caring for the animals a REQUIRED CHORE, and explain why owning a pet is a long term commitment.
4) If you are unable to find a home for your piggies, I will post them here at Petfinder. Please e-mail me their information, and a picture if you have one. If you don't have one, I will take one for you and post their profile on my site. I will then have potential adopters contact you so that you may choose the best match.
Adoption fee is $20 for one piggie, $30 for two. When you adopt, you will also receive a supply of liquid Vitamin C, which guinea pigs need supplemented. I also offer a LIFETIME of free nail trims for your guinea pigs! (If you live within a reasonable distance).
Please visit Guinea Lynx for all the info you could possibly need on Guinea Pig care! Make sure that your family and home are ready to provide a forever home for a guinea pig!
Also, please visit Cavy Cages to find out how to easily make a cheap but very large cage that Guinea Pigs just love! These cages are much bigger than cages in pet stores AND they are half the price! These cages are REQUIRED for all new adopters! I can provide the materials for you, and even put it together! Please ask for details!
Please visit The Pet Gazette for more info on local rescue groups, as well as lots of info on animal care!
Thank you so much for choosing to ADOPT your next best friend!
