Kitties For Keeps!

Our Featured Cat!

Alex is a LOOOOOOOOOVER! And would much rather be giving you attention than fighting for it with all of these other foster cats. If you don't mind hearing purring all the time, Alex is the companion for you! Click here to get the goods on Alex!

Adopting a friend

Potential adopters must complete an adoption application. Minimum adoption fee is $60 for one cat, $100 for two. This covers their spay/neuter, and first year of shots. If you don't have any other cats, please consider adopting two cats of similar age so they can have companionship when you are not around. This keeps cats busy so they don't get into mischief, and there is no noticeable cost difference after adoption!

If you do not find a cat that interests you here, please consider adopting from one of the other Memphis area organizations like the House of Mews or Mewtopia.

If you can't adopt, please consider sending us a small donation. We are just a married couple on one income with an infant son doing what we can to help get strays and ferals adopted, as well as help other area organizations with trap/alter/release programs to keep lower feral colony populations.

About Adopting a Pet as a Gift

Pets are a common gift idea during the holidays. However, many are returned - or worse - abandoned after the holidays are over. Why? Because of a well-intentioned mistake. Before you give a gift of a pet, please consider a few things:

So, do a little investigation before adopting a pet to give as a gift, and you will save an animal the experience of having to change location and their familiar surroundings. Thank you!

About Us

Kitties for Keeps is just one of the many "foster home" rescue groups in the Memphis area. We are a married couple with an infant child in one house. We are not an "organization". We work with other groups to help Trap/Neuter/Release feral cats as well as rescues of kittens. Unfortunately, we are not able to take in any more cats at this time. Depending on our current situation, we may be available to help with humane trapping of feral colony cats for TNR. If you are looking for someone to take cats you have found, please consider taking the responsibility to house them yourself, or at least, make sure they are spayed or neutered to help keep down the unwanted animal population.

Special Thanks!

We could not do what we do for rescues and ferals without the help of Dr. Hezel and his staff at Hickory Hill Animal Hospital at 6001 Knight Arnold Road in Memphis. Please consider using them for your vet services after adoption.
