- No Shelter
- No County Animal Control (so there's no place for unwanted
pets, thus, causing misery, cruelty and death!)
We are a small, all volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) that rescues dogs in Tennessee and transports them to the Northeast as we find good adopters. We do this because there are SO MANYunwanted animals due to the lack of stringent Spay/Neuter Laws in Tennessee.
Our organization believes that spaying and neutering is the most effective and humane way of controlling our pet overpopulation because there are not enough homes for all of the unwanted litters. We offer a low cost Spay/Neuter services to our residents to assist in controlling the animal population.
Our goal is to save the precious lives through adoption and spay/neuter.
OUR MOTTO IS TO LEND A HELPING HAND TO THOSE WITHOUT A VOICE
We at are pleased to present you with a Dog Rescue Award for excellence in providing underprivileged dogs a much valued resource. We take pride in acknowledging the best organizations around the country with our special award emblem, recognizing them for their outstanding work at the Decatur County Humane Association certainly qualifies as one of them.
Thank you for all the work you and your organization provides for dogs in need. We wish you the best in continuing your highly valued service.
Thanks again for all you do
Best Regards
Evan

PRIORITIES:
- Fighting Pet Overpopulation (low cost spay/neuter program for dogs/cats of county residents who qualify) that's dependent upon availability of grant funds.
~E-mail DCHATN@Live.com for a spay/neuter application or pick one up at Decatur County Animal Clinic, Animal Care Clinic or Smoochers Pet Salon.
- Rescuing puppies and their mothers (if space is available) so they can be quickly adopted or transported to the northeast to loving FOREVER homes
- Rescuing other canines, if space is available, but 95% of the time, we DO NOT HAVE THE SPACE since there are so few foster homes.
- Providing some assistance to felines (food and some medical care) when funds are available.
