We apologize for a lack of updates on adoptable pets. Unfortunately, our internet access is very limited. Due to this problem, we have been unable to post adoptable pets on our site. As soon as the situation is resolved, we will be posting again. If you are interested in finding out what animals we have available in our shelter, please call or email, and we will be more than willing to inform you of what is available here.
Who We Are
Shelbyville Animal Control is a division of the Shelbyville Police Department. We are working in partnership with our community to create a safe, healthy, and caring environment for both our citizens and animals. We provide this service through education and courteous, effective enforcement of the laws contained within Tennessee State Law TCA 39-14-202.
Adopting a friend
We are so glad you are interested in adoption and are considering giving one of our animals a new home! Your first step should be to come to our shelter and visit the pet you are interested in to become your lifelong friend and family member. Once you have made your final decision, you will need to fill out an adoption contract (giving you full responsibility to the proper care of that animal) and pay the adoption fees. Our adoption contract and TN state law requires that all animals adopted from our shelter be spay/neutered and rabies vaccinated. Included in our $64.00 adoption fee are the following: A $32.00 voucher to be used toward spay/neuter, A voucher for the cost of the rabies vaccine, and a shelter ID tag.
Come Visit Us!
We are open from 7 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday, with animal viewing and adoption hours being the same. Feel free to come visit us. The directions are as follows: From Madison St., turn on East Ln. at the East Ln./Bethany Ln. intersection, turn left onto Industrial Pkwy. Our shelter is the second building on the right. Look for the signs.
