We are in desperate need to cover all the heartworm treatments that we have been doing and we have about seven more waiting in the wings ready. Because of the over abundance of dogs being abandoned and donations being down, our vet bills are killing us right now. Guardian Angel Pet Rescue was founded in January 2001. Guardian Angel Pet Rescue (GAPR), is a NO-KILL, 501(c) 3 non-profit, community service organization staffed entirely by volunteers. GAPR relies solely on the public's donations, fundraisers, and adoption fees. GAPR is dedicated to rescuing animals from helpless situations, and offers refuge, medical care, nourishment, and a second chance for life to companion animals that are in immediate peril in the greater Memphis area.
Rescued animals (when appropriate) are lovingly cared for in private foster homes until they are placed in responsible forever homes to be a life long friend. Those pets requiring medical supervision are boarded with a local vet until they can be moved into a foster hoome.
GAPR promotes responsible pet ownership through education, and has a mandatory spay/neuter policy for all animals.
Adopting a friend
The adoption program is designed to ensure the placement of our foster animals into permanent, responsible homes. We make every effort to match an animal and potential adopter so as to not subject the animal to further trauma, neglect, or rejection. These animals deserve stability and unconditional love for the rest of their lives. With the right match, they will make a lifelong loving commitment to you and your family.
Potential Adopters must complete an Adoption Application and may have to submit to a home visit.
Adoption Fee:
$150.00 - Dogs and Puppies
$90.00 - Cats and Kittens
100% of the adoption fees and donations goes toward the rescue and care of the animals.
No salaries are paid!
All pets are age appropriatly spayed or neutered, current on age appropriate vaccinations and vet checked. Animals that are too young to be spayed/nueterd require a $25.00 refundable deposit.
