Who We Are

Tipton County Animal Shelter is a municipal shelter. A "shelter" is temporary housing for lost or missing pets and those that are unwanted. A "shelter" is government funded and thus has limitations as to the number of animals it can house. Tennessee State Law mandates "stray" animals must be held 3 days--TCAS holds a very minimum of 5 to better facilitate the reunion of lost pets and owners. Shelter phone number (901) 837-5919

Adopting a Friend

***Adoption fee for all cats, kittens, dogs and puppies is $50, which includes a $20 rabies voucher, a $25 spay/neuter voucher and a $5 pound fee.

***You will be required to sign an agreement to have the pet spayed or neutered within thirty (30) days of obtaining the pet if the pet is over six (6) months of age or within thirty (30) days after the dog or cat reaches six (6) months of age. Nothing in this law precludes the pediatric spaying or neutering at the discretion of a licensed veterinarian and with the consent of the the new owner.

**If the pet you are adopting is already spayed/neutered, the adoption fee will only be $20 or if the pet is current on Rabies vaccination but not spayed/neutered then the fee will be the $30 only. Even though rare, occasionally a pet comes in that is already spayed/neutered and current on rabies- in that situation, there would be $5 fee for that pet.
