***The Ark No Kill Center has outgrown it's current location at 2163 N. Ocoee Street. A larger facility is desperately needed which will allow us to save the lives of more pets in the Ocoee Region. 245 dogs and cats, puppies and kittens, (and one bunny) received comprehensive vetting then were adopted from The Ark No Kill Adoption Center in 2009! Since the Ark No Kill Center opened three years ago, Animal Control's euthanasia numbers have DECREASED from over 8,000 in 2005 to 5,500 in 2008! A larger No Kill Ark Adoption Center will allow us to impact this kill rate even faster. Read more on our Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ark-Of-Cleveland-Inc/119468034138?ref=ts
Adopters complete a short adoption contract. This eliminates "whim" adoptions and ensures you get the right pet. *** Comprehensive Veterinary care is done BEFORE pets are offered for adoption. All Ark pets have current vet administered vaccinations, have been vet examined, are de-wormed, heartworm tested, are on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and are already spayed or neutered! Puppies and kittens are spayed/neutered when old enough, this is included in their adoption fee. Every Ark pet comes with a personalized veterinary record. *** Don't be fooled by the parking lot statement, "I give my own vaccinations". All pets deserve to be seen and treated by a veterinarian, before you adopt them. *** Ark pets have already been socialized. Socialized pets and comprehensive veterinary care BEFORE adoption, account for the Ark's highly successful adoption rates. In the rare event the pet you adopt does not work out, the Ark will happily take the pet back. ... Low cost Humane Animal Rescue Team (HART) spay/neuter applications may be picked up at The Ark NO KILL Adoption and Resource Center at 2163 North Ocoee Street, or downloaded at this link: http://www.help.hart.net/ . The HART program is funded by the purchase of Tennessee Animal Friendly license plates and is done in your local veterinarian's office.
