Hi there, my name is Harley. I am a young male Springer Spaniel Cross with lots of enthusiasm and energy to boot! I am friendly, and I would do very well in a family environment. I still need some training but it shouldn't be too hard to teach me given my enthusiasm. I am the perfect size, not much bigger than a spaniel! Come meet me, maybe my puppy eyes would be able to convince you to give me a great home!
We have some pretty fantastic dogs that need their forever homes! We have seniors, we have adolescents and young adults and we have puppies! If you are looking for a dog, remember needy dogs sometimes make the very best companions!!

Hello, my name is Sabrina. I am a female grey Domestic Shorthair. I have my vaccinations (except rabies) and I have been spayed already. I am one of the cuddliest girls you will ever meet! I am perfectly content to let you cradle me, I just purr and purr. I am a pretty mellow cat, I can get along with other cats and I am sure that I would be able to fit into your household very easily!
We are currently OVERCROWDED with cats/kittens that need their forever homes! Big, small, fat, thin, seniors, kittens, adolescents, independant, affectionate, playful, we have them all! We are very sure that you will be able to find your new companion in our facility so please, if you are wanting a cat come down and help us save a life! Please help us with our cat population so that we can give these cats a chance at a happy home.
We currently have kittens! Our Kitten Program is on, meaning you only pay the spay/neuter deposit and no adoption fee. You will get the deposit back once proof of sterilization has been shown. These cute little kitties will need very good homes soon!
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL ANIMALS ADOPTED FROM OUR SHELTER ARE REQUIRED TO BE FIXED! THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL.
Impounds
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT ALL LOST AND FOUND ANIMALS/IMPOUNDS ARE ALMOST ALWAYS BROUGHT TO US SO IF YOU ARE MISSING YOUR PET PLEASE CALL OR COME DOWN TO SEE IF IT IS HERE!!!
If you know of someone who has lost their pet please contact the Humane Society immediately. We would love to see these animals go home.
Shelter News
November is Adopt a Senior Pet month! Families who are thinking of adopting often wonder whether they should adopt a puppy/kitten vs an older pet. Well, why not adopt a senior pet? Senior pets are often already housetrained and obedience trained. They are usually a bit calmer around excitement compared to the enthusiasm of a young pet. Not to mention, they usually like more cuddle time on the couch with you! There are lots of senior pets in shelters all over the place that need YOU to help them spend the rest of their retirement being loved and taken care of. Check out Petfinder for some great adoption stories, etc and please consider saving an older pet's life!
Do you have experience training dogs? If so, we could use your help! If you know how to train dogs basic commands/good manners we need someone who would be willing to volunteer their time, about 1/2 hour each time they come (or more, depending on how many dogs need your help). Some of our dogs have no training and it would be doing them a HUGE favor to have someone come in and teach them so that they can be adopted! If you are interested please contact the shelter!
The EHS farm cat program is still on and is for people living on farms or acreages that want farm cats for a reduced (and very minimal) adoption fee. The cats that are up for this program will be spayed/neutered before leaving, along with distemper shots. We can arrange for rabies shots as well for an additional cost (recommended). Certain cats will be priority to get out of their cages first. All we need from you is an adoption application and a land location. It’s the best deal in town! Feel free to call us for more information.
Donations are always appreciated! We currently need:
Cat food (Whiskas, Friskies, Iams, or vet food is preferred but will take all!!), dry or wet
Dog food (Pedigree, Purina, Iams, Kibbles and Bits, or vet food is preferred, but will take all!!), dry only please

A Little Bit of History
Adopting A Friend
The Estevan Humane Society is dedicated to the well-being of animals and strives to place neglected, abused and abandoned animals in caring, compassionate homes that can provide all the necessities and love a good friend needs. To ensure this, there is a mandatory adoption questionaire for potential adoptors to fill out, followed by a 48 hour waiting period. The questionaire includes basic information as well as more specific information and references that will help us determine the suitability of the potential home.
Adoption fees are as follows: $75.00 for a cat and $160.00 for a dog. These pets are neutered/spayed and have one booster vaccination. If you are from out of town or adopting an animal that is too young to be altered, a $75.00 deposit is required but is refunded once sterilization of the animal has been proven. Adoption fees for unfixed animals are as follows: $50 adoption fee + $75 deposit (Total $125) for unfixed dogs, and $40 adoption fee + $75 deposit (Total $115) for unfixed cats. *Please note that we accept cash only*

Having your pet spayed or neutered means controlling the pet population which results in less unwanted animals.
NOTE: THE ESTEVAN HUMANE SOCIETY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ANY ADOPTION.
Come and visit the many potentially loving friends that we have in our shelter. We are located in Estevan's South-east side valley region, where the Brick Yard Wildlife Refuge Park used to operate. Please feel free to stop by either to adopt a companion, drop off a donation or volunteer your time. We are open to the public from 10:30 to 11:30 am and from 5:30 to 7:30 pm weekdays. On weekends we are open from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
